Is it filler or fat transfer?
Either. XpressXL can be performed with dermal filler or with your own fat, and which one suits you is decided with Dr. Giselle at your consultation, based on your anatomy and what you want to achieve.
Fat transfer uses tissue taken from the area of your choice. Filler is a gel, with nothing harvested and a shorter appointment time.
Am I awake for it?
Yes. XpressXL is an awake procedure performed under local anesthesia, which is the same approach used across every procedure Dr. Giselle performs here.
If you opt for filler, a quick and easy numbing technique will have you in and out of our office in less than an hour. This procedure is performed in one of our treatment rooms instead of our surgery suites.
How long does it take?
XpressXL is done at Exert BodySculpt rather than a hospital, and you go home the same day.
Appointment times vary based on the procedure type you choose. Filler appointments last 15 minutes to 1 hour, and fat transfers typically take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes. You will be provided with specifics at the time of your visit.
What is recovery like?
It differs between the two options, and between individuals. Filler is less invasive, which results in a shorter recovery timeline.
Dr. Giselle will provide you with aftercare instructions that cover activity, exercise and when to resume sex. Follow-up appointments are handled directly by our medical team, and anything that comes up is reviewed and addressed directly by Dr. Giselle.
How long do results last?
Because a fat transfer uses your own tissue, it behaves differently from gel filler, which the body gradually breaks down and absorbs. Most patients retain 50 to 70% of the fat transferred to the penis, while filler patients retain results for up to 2 years.
Result timelines vary from person to person. Dr. Giselle will give you an honest picture of what to expect at your consultation.
