Areas We Treat

Liposuction can be performed on one area or several in the same session. What's right for you is decided together at your consultation.

Inner Thighs, Outer Thighs, Mapped to You

Thigh liposuction is tailored to where your fat actually sits, from the inner and outer thighs to the front and back of the leg.

Thigh liposuction can treat

  • Inner thighswhere the thighs meet, and where rubbing and chafing can make extra fat uncomfortable
  • Outer thighsthe fat on the outside of the upper leg, often called saddlebags
  • Front of the thighsthe quadriceps area and just above the knee
  • Back of the thighsincluding the crease where the thigh meets the buttock

Liposuction can also treat

Flanks the fat along the sides of the waist, often called love handles.

Lipo 360 the abdomen, flanks and back treated as one circumferential area.

Hourglass Waist shaping the curve between the ribs and the hips.

Lower Back the pocket that sits just above the waistband.

Bra Roll the fold under and around the bra line.

Buffalo Hump the fat pad at the base of the back of the neck.

High-BMI Liposuction body contouring adapted for patients at a higher BMI.

Liposculpture detailed shaping across several areas in one plan.

Not sure which area applies to you? Bring your goals to the consultation. Dr. Giselle will tell you directly what liposuction can and can't do for your body.

Why Exert

Awake liposuction is our signature procedure, performed in an accredited surgical facility rather than a hospital.

Body Contouring Done Right

Awake, under local anesthesia, in an accredited surgical facility. No general anesthesia, no hospital, no long recovery.

01

You stay awake

Awake liposuction is performed under local anesthesia with Pro‑Nox, an inhaled 50/50 mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen, as well as a combination of anti‑anxiety and anti‑nausea medications. The treatment areas are fully numbed. You'll feel like you've had a few glasses of wine: in a bit of a haze, but still able to talk with the team throughout your procedure.

02

Power‑assisted & VASER technology

We break up fat with a vibrating cannula or a VASER ultrasound device rather than a laser, which avoids the burn risk associated with laser liposuction. Incisions are tiny, only a few millimeters each, the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen.

03

Precise contouring

Dr. Giselle marks your body before the procedure to guide every pass. Because you're awake and positioned, Dr. Giselle is able to keep full control over the shape she's creating.

04

Minimal downtime

Most procedures take 1–2 hours, and the majority of our patients return to non‑strenuous work within a few days. Individual recovery varies.

05

Renuvion skin tightening, included

Renuvion skin tightening is included with every liposuction procedure except buffalo hump liposuction. It uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to “shrink wrap” the skin over the treated area, for a tighter, more youthful appearance.

Awake vs. General Anesthesia (Asleep) Liposuction

Most complications associated with body contouring relate to general anesthesia rather than the procedure itself. Staying awake removes that variable.

What I tell my own friends

Some fat pockets are strictly genetic and won't change regardless of how clean you eat or how hard you exercise. Liposuction isn't about chasing perfection, it's about addressing biological realities that lifestyle changes simply cannot reach.

The goal is to help you feel like yourself again and be comfortable in your own skin. I give my patients the same advice I give my inner circle: do it for the self‑assurance it brings.

Best team ever

“I just had ChinXpress awake liposuction procedure with Exert Bodysculpt. I want to start off by saying it was a great experience! I was nervous about what the pain was going to be like because it is an awake procedure. I was pleasantly surprised, there was no pain, and my recovery so far has been great!!!”

Rachael Roberts

Dr. Giselle and her team are absolutely wonderful

“I went in in July for a consultation with Dr. Giselle and I felt so safe. When I arrived at the clinic that morning, I was welcomed with open arms! Dr. G came in and discussed our plan and marked my body. I felt no pain. Dr. Giselle and her team are absolutely wonderful. I have minimal bruising!!!”

What to Expect

Four stages, from your first form submission to your final result. Timelines are typical, yours may differ.

What to Expect

No mystery, no surprises. Here's how the process actually runs.

  1. 1

    Request a consultation

Fill out the short form on this page. Someone from our team will reach out to schedule your appointment, virtual or in‑person.

  2. 2

    Your consultation

Dr. Giselle will review your medical history and goals, examine the areas of concern, and tell you whether awake liposuction is appropriate for you. You'll go over expected outcomes, the technique, and your personalized quote.

  3. 3

    Your procedure

Performed awake in an accredited surgical facility, under local anesthesia with Pro‑Nox. Your body is marked, tumescent solution numbs the area, fat is broken up and removed through tiny incisions, then closed with absorbable sutures. Compression garments are provided for improved results and enhanced healing. Typically 1–2 hours, depending on the areas treated. Renuvion skin tightening, included with every procedure except buffalo hump liposuction, uses the same incision points, and its results appear gradually as your body rebuilds collagen in the treated area.

  4. 4

    Recovery & results

Recovery typically lasts less than one week. Swelling, bruising, and soreness are common, usually peaking 2–3 days after surgery. Most patients return to non‑strenuous work within a few days; complete healing generally takes about 6 weeks. You'll go home with our post‑operative kit.

Thigh Liposuction Questions, Answered

Am I a good candidate for thigh liposuction?

Thigh liposuction is designed for adults 18 and over who are in good general health, with good skin elasticity and localized fat on the inner or outer thighs that hasn't responded to diet and exercise. Non-smokers, or patients willing to stop before and during recovery, are better candidates, because smoking slows healing.

It is a contouring procedure: it is not designed for substantial weight loss or for treating cellulite. But we do have a treatment for that: Aveli, which can be added to your thigh liposuction in Fort Myers or The Villages. Candidacy is confirmed only after Dr. Giselle evaluates you in person and/or via photo submission.

What is the difference between inner and outer thigh liposuction?

Inner thigh liposuction treats fat on the inside of the thighs, where they meet and can rub. Outer thigh liposuction treats the fat on the outside of the upper leg, often called saddlebags, which adds width to the lower body and can make wearing tight-fitting clothes challenging, or even impossible.

The two are often treated together in the same session, and the front and back of the thighs can be included too. Which areas belong in your plan is decided with Dr. Giselle at your consultation.

Can thigh liposuction help with chafing?

When the inner thighs touch, the rubbing can cause discomfort and skin irritation, especially during activity. By reducing fat on the inner thighs, thigh liposuction can ease that rubbing.

Will thigh liposuction tighten loose skin or treat cellulite?

Liposuction removes fat. On its own it does not improve skin elasticity or treat cellulite, but Aveli cellulite treatment can be added to any thigh liposuction procedure, at both our Fort Myers and The Villages locations.

Renuvion skin tightening, included with every liposuction procedure at Exert except buffalo hump, uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy to help firm the skin. Dr. Giselle will assess your skin at your evaluation and tell you what to expect.

Is liposuction a weight loss procedure?

No. Liposuction is a body contouring procedure, not a weight loss solution. It targets specific areas of stubborn fat rather than reducing overall body weight. If weight loss is your primary goal, we can talk about medical weight loss options at your consultation.

How much does thigh liposuction cost?

Most single-area liposuction treatments at Exert BodySculpt run $6,000 to $7,000, and larger plans that treat several areas are often $12,000 to $15,000. The cost increases with each additional area treated.

Pricing depends on which parts of the thighs are treated, your contouring goals, and the amount of fat removed. Medical history and current health status are always taken into consideration. You'll receive a personalized quote after Dr. Giselle evaluates you, in person and/or via photo submission. Financing is available through third-party partners, subject to their approval.

How long does recovery take?

Recovery after thigh liposuction typically lasts about a week. Swelling, bruising, and soreness are common and usually peak 2–3 days after surgery before subsiding.

Most patients return to non-strenuous work within a few days, while avoiding exercise and heavy lifting. Compression garments are typically worn for 2–6 weeks, and complete healing generally takes about 6 weeks. Recovery varies from patient to patient.

How long do thigh liposuction results last?

Thigh liposuction can provide long-lasting results. Keeping a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle helps preserve them, because significant weight changes can affect your outcome over time.

Can you treat more than one part of the thighs in one session?

Yes. Inner and outer thighs are often treated together in one session, and the front and back of the thighs can be included too. Thigh liposuction can also be combined with many of our other procedures. At every consultation, Dr. Giselle reviews what can be completed in a single session, based on your anatomy and goals.

Does it hurt if I'm awake?

The treatment areas are fully numbed with a tumescent solution containing local anesthetic, and we use Pro-Nox, an inhaled 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen, to keep you comfortable and relaxed. You stay awake throughout. We typically tell patients it will feel like they've had a few glasses of wine: they're in a bit of a haze, but still able to communicate with the team. We also provide anti-nausea and anti-anxiety medication, plus antibiotics the day before your procedure.

Why awake instead of under general anesthesia?

Most complications associated with body contouring relate to general anesthesia rather than to the procedure itself. Common complications of general anesthesia include nausea and vomiting, a sore throat, grogginess or confusion as it wears off, and blood clots. Staying awake removes that variable, and because you aren't recovering from general anesthesia, your body can focus its energy on healing.

Patients typically experience less bruising and downtime and can go home shortly after their procedure.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We work with third-party financing partners, including Cherry, CareCredit, PatientFi, and Affirm, so payments can be spread over time. Approval, terms, and rates are set by the lender. We also offer an interest-free, in-house financing option. Our team will walk you through the options at your consultation.
